The partners in the team are regarded as leaders in this field.  Direct involvement in previous test case decisions of Fairchild, Rothwell and currently the EL Trigger Litigation ensures that clients are kept appraised of market approaches to the handling of asbestos claims.

The team is currently leading on the defence of a mesothelioma test case on the issue of the retention of historic and contingent liabilities.  There are claims valued in excess of £2 million waiting in the wings and potential implications for all future asbestos claims.  Important issues are to be determined on statutory interpretation and construction of the Civil Liability (Contribution) Act 1978.
