Alternative Dispute Resolution

We are alive to the commercial realities and costs of litigation and experience tells us that without prejudice discussion can do much to narrow issues and promote early and cost effective settlements.  We therefore actively pursue alternative means of settling claims.  We have wide experience of mediation throughout the team and through our own qualified mediator, Jamie Colman, offer in-house mediation facilities.

Litigation

The Team comprises skilled litigators who are experienced in running claims in the Technology & Construction Court within the High Court and the County Court.  We handle a range of high value, complex liability and recovery claims and operate a dedicated Recovery Unit to pursue lower value claims that occur in volume.

The Recovery Unit typically handles around 1,000 claims a year with values up to £100,000 utilising a bespoke case management system.  The claims that we undertake are diverse ranging from impact damage to fire, from escape of water to theft, and encompass contractual, tortious and statutory issues.  Our focus is to recover our clients’ outlay in a timely and cost effective manner.
