UK & Overseas Claims

UK Claims

All claims in the UK are dealt with from our Leeds office.  We deal with pre-litigation claims ourselves (including all investigations) but use solicitor agents if claims are litigated in Northern Ireland or Scotland as English solicitors are not authorised to appear before the courts in these jurisdictions.

Overseas Claims

Plexus Law does not have offices overseas but we deal with airport claims throughout the world with the exception of the USA.  The Plexus Law Aviation Team has built a network of overseas agents which covers every major jurisdiction in the world.  We have an excellent working relationship with these agents and are able to call on them to provide assistance and representation at a local level if underwriters do not have a preferred local agent.  All of our agents are experts in dealing with both claims and any litigation and all are able to represent underwriters and the insured before the local courts.

A recent example of our overseas work is where we acted in defence of a number of injury claims arising from the collapse of a ceiling at a major international airport in the Caribbean.  Following settlement of the injury claims the Plexus Law Aviation Team worked to secure recovery from the contractors who were ultimately liable for the defective workmanship that caused the collapse.  The Plexus Law Aviation Team worked with their overseas agents to secure full recovery of amounts paid by underwriters in relation to both damages and costs following this incident.
